Start S/W problem of Yamaha Super Jet

I reported Super Jet last week, that ski was engine start before but after fix problem then won`t turn starter.

I found battery lead end was broken by corrosion but still starter motor didn`t turn after repair this,,,,,,,Problem was Kill S/W of  inside of S/W box.

One of plate was stuck by rust because start S/W had a bad connection.

Bearing housing problem of Yamaha Super Jet, 2


Removed center bearing housing from ski.

Here is answer of yesterday, so rubber peel off from housing completely. This may cause of damage drive shaft and short shaft. This customer is very lucky because Doctor find problem before damaged shafts.

Also this ski was damaged (peel off ) engine mount rubber too.

Won't engine start Yamaha Blaster2 ,2

Found problem of this ski, it was water get into electric box and rust lead of Ignition coil.

Water stain build up under the Ignition coil

Lead joint of Ignition coil was rusted. This is main cause of didn`t spark well.

Won't engine start Yamaha Blaster2

This Blaster2 won't engine start after roll over at surf.

Engine only start a split second and won't start completely.

Check spark condition, only a split second of spark when cranking.

Jammed dust and oily.

Water jacket from bottom of body.

Jammed water stain.

Water jacket bottom cover. Water pick up from jet pump unit and through here and getting build up to top.

Nearly jammed water pick up tube by water stain.

Supercharger problem of Kawasaki U-250, 3

Dismantled S/C
Blower was stucked at blue circle point of pic. (click pic)
There are build up corrosion at blue circle point.
Basically it is very small gap between blower and housing because if ski sitting for long time the housing getting corrode and build up. In a worst-case scenario, blower won't move or blower coating may damage as this motor.
Damaged blower coating.
Also pulley bearing is very stiff too.

Supercharger problem of Kawasaki U-250, 2

Removed supercharger from motor.
Removed intake and outer tube
Salty water adhered inside of supercharger. This is main cause of seized blower of supercharger.

Coating of blower was damaged too.

Unfortunately the supercharger replacement parts are not available from Kawasaki.
So now this ski need a new S/C assy cost over $4000,,,,,here in AUS.
It is very expensive.
If you  own U-250,U-260 better to wash and lube every after season for avoid this problem but not easy to remove S/C from motor, so better to take work shop and request service of this.

Supercharger problem of Kawasaki U-250


This ski was run's fine about 3or 4weeks ago, since then the ski was sitting in a garage.
Now supercharger is seized and won't turn.

When engine started it had squeaky noise and smoke came out from cover. Motor was keep run but very poor feeling when open throttle. It found belt of supercharger was broken.

Supercharger belt was damaged because supercharger pulley didn't turn and cut by friction burned.

I checked supercharger pulley, it won't turn,

Nice funnel for Yamaha SHO motor

Yamaha SHO's oil filler is too small to fill oil. I found this filler just fit as same size and pitch of drink bottle.

 Cut a bottle of suitable size. Good fit and very stable.


So now easy to fill oil without spill.

New fuel cap Yamaha 2010model

Yamaha's fuel cap now change to ratchet type from year 2010model.
This is good to avoid over tight but Sea Doo use this type of cap from over 10 years.
Yamaha should change to this sys more quickly.
If your ski still old type of cap you can change to ratchet type cap because cap socket is same.
Only problem ratchet type is expensive.

Service and inspection Yamaha Wave Raider 1100, 3

Today's report is Exhaust  and Jet pump unit.
This exhaust pipe has by-pass water hose from middle of barrel to end. If ski was stuck on sand bank or ridden on shallow water before must need check this because may occure to jammed hose by sand and block to water cooling and it will get over heat of exhaust sys.

Jet pump unit was damaged ,must be this ski was stuck or ridden shallow water before. Impeller top edges was damaged also impeller gap now to much, in short outer of impeller been ground by sand. This is also involved of exhaust sys jammed by sand.

Impeller gap has over 1.0mm.  Limit is 0.6mm.
