Won`t engine turn of Kawasaki STX 15F, 3

Impeller housing return from machining shop, it looks new!
They remove old housing ring and fit new ring with special glue and machining proper size.
Here in Australia brand new housing is very expensive.
This impeller condition was not too bad.
However outer circumferential has been worn just little bit.
Usually impeller and housing repair together and machine as Factory STD size but this time repair only housing because impeller gap adjust by housing thickness when machining.
If impeller has been worn too much ,we recommend repair or new impeller.

Won`t engine turn of Kawasaki STX 15F, 2

 This jet pump unit had another problem which water get into bearing room.

There are two oil seal locate front of unit and sealing shaft. However they are getting worn out
and may cause water get into inside.

After remove shaft and bushing, grease color been changed creamy.
Grease and oil cheange color to creamy when mixed water.
After remove top oil seal

After remove bottom oil seal, water sitting on top of bearing.

This ski has been used 196HR so this time change oil seals and bearings together.

Won`t engine turn of Kawasaki STX 15F


This ski came to Doctor becasue engine won`t turn (cranking) after sitting about 3weeks.
This case has some factor, jammed starter reduction gear by rust or broken, piston seized by rust and impeller locked (stuck) by impeller housing swelling. Let`s have look what was cause of this case.
Simply disconnect jet pump unit first and check.

Impeller won`t turn , so seized completely. This is cause of problem  this time for this ski.
Zoom up of impeller hit the housing.
Now need to repair housing.

Yamaha FX-140 exhaust problem, 2

Disconnect exhaust joint hose assy.

Damaged rubber hose. Exhaust gas and water blow out from here.

Remove outer housing. There are built up corrosion in between housing to rubber hose.
New rubber hose.

This engine mount just sitting under the joint hose because get salt erosion and peel off rubber by salt water as oil filter which blow out from joint hose.

Yamaha FX-140 exhaust problem

We found why oil filter been rust because exhaust joint hose been split.
This exhaust joint hose sitting between end of exhaust pipe to water box.
In short exhaust gas and water blow out from here and get rust around
parts which inc oil filter.

It looks like a unexploded bomb !
This is after market oil filter fit to Yamaha 4 stroke ski.
 Is this just bad look after or because non genuine parts?
Customer said been serviced not long ago at other shop.
Anyway better to rins inside of engine room anytime after you ride.

STX1100 water leak problem

This Kawasaki STX1100 happend over heat problem.
This problem cause from cooling hose joint between jet pump to engine room.
 Cooling water pick up from jet pump and through this tube then send to engine,
however this case the plastic joint tube been split and water leaked from there. 
In short this is cause of this motor get over heat.
This plastic tube will split after long time past but this parts can`t get from Kawasaki, I don't know why
 because we made this parts by alumimum so now no warries!!

Slant-detection swtich

Switch place inside of EL box of FX-HO

This position is normal as open circuit (switch OFF)

This position is when ski rollover as close circuit (switch ON)

Do you know 4stroke jet ski has slant-detection switch?
This switch work for stop engine immediately when ski rollover
becasue if engine keep running then oil pump suck air and
may cause of engine damage also avoid to water get into
engine room so quickly.

Service and inspection of Yamaha FX-HO , 3

Full inspection program we check inside of electric box and lead couplers.
Jet skis electric box and lead coupler are basically designed water proof for
avoid damage electric parts and lead joints. However if packing and seals are getting
damage or wear  that may cause of leak water and damage electric parts.
If any leads even just one lead get corrde that cause of engine trouble such as
won't turn starter motor,won't spark, lost power. Everybody know modern jet ski use
 now computer management Fuel injection sys. This sys controled by many sensor fitted around
motor. Those sensor pick up temp, pressure, throttle open angle, crank shaft angle etc,,,
then send those info to ECU (main PC). In short even if one sensor's lead are corrode or damage
then ECU can't get true info and lost control motor, worst case stop motor or get poor performance.
We recommend check this regularly for avoid trouble your jet ski.

inspect spark condition, must need good and strong spark.
                       inspect throttle body and cable, must synchronize all valves,  moving smooth, no corrosion .

inspect drive-train coupling, check coupling and rubber coupling, must need suitable gap between coupling to coupling.

Ignition coil (spark plug cap) been rust 2 of 4. Both  removed rust and clean also all 4 of coils sealed by Sika-flex as show VX110's  last week.

Electric wiring coupler trouble

This customer's GP1300R had trouble of wiring coupler.
This ski been fitted RIVA fuel control sys. This sys just connect between main harness coupler and control fuel volume of injector for modified motor.  However water get into inside of coupler and damaged terminals because ski didn't run well.

One of job was today Yamaha SHO service. This customer show me a nice cam which GoPro.
This is little cam with water proof housing and you can put this anywhere on jet ski by suction disc.

Over heat sensor


G day mate!  Doctor was very busy this week and one more day before weekend. This week patients  were 2 of FX-140,VX110, GP1200, GP1300R, STX15F.
Today's topics is over heat sensor. 1 of FX-140 had warning light on at the boat ramp when engine start.
It problem was over heat sensor been corrode and damaged. This is cause of short circuit inside of sensor and ECU pick up error. In short motor wasn't over heat  just sensor's problem.
When you ride jet ski and if any warning sys on which light on or beeping, stop engine and better to tow ski slowly and call to machanic ASAP.
